Community Interactions
Community Interactions, Inc. (CI) was founded in 1971 by Gerald Saulino with a personal mission to provide a better life for his brother, Albert, who lived in an institutional setting for people with intellectual disabilities. Gerald wanted his brother to be part of the community and surrounded by people who care about him. In 1973, CI opened its first housing for adults with disabilities in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Today, CI offers person-centered support services and housing in Delaware and Pennsylvania for individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and dual diagnosed behavioral challenges.
The mission of Community Interactions is to build communities of compassion and inclusion for neurodiverse people through innovative services. They embrace the dignity and uniqueness of every individual they serve. The values that guide their work include respect, inclusion, partnership, and trust. At CI, they provide high-quality services and housing that honor the dignity of individuals while promoting community integration and self-determination.
Overall, Community Interactions is dedicated to creating a supportive environment where individuals with disabilities can thrive and live fulfilling lives with independence and inclusion.
